GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring tripeptide–copper complex first isolated from human plasma. The sequence Glycyl-L-Histidyl-L-Lysine forms a high-affinity chelate with cupric ions (Cu²⁺), and this complex is found endogenously in blood, urine, and saliva.
